Freezerless Refrigerators

The Best Freezerless Refrigerators | Reviews + Buyer’s Guide (2022)

Unsurprisingly, the sub-$200 price point is a good price point to begin exploring these more compact refrigerators. And as we are the only manufacturers here (other than the behemoth LG), we should be proud of that. They usually operate well, have great warranties, and don’t come with complicated or intimidating maintenance schedules. As long as you take care of them, you can run these for 20+ years. These include some outstanding features, which should make you excited about living in a tiny home, perhaps even as a permanent addition to it. Let’s begin with the following best freezerless refrigerators described below:

LG LW9000AFF Stainless Steel 40-Inch Model

The LG LW9000AFF is the brand’s line of affordable, sleek, and sleek-looking models. The best of the bunch is the stainless-steel version since it has a sleek look without being too busy or trying too hard. It is one of the more affordable appliances to feature stainless steel, and that seems worth considering for a bigger project. But it has a nice insulated door, to keep your groceries cold for longer, and a fine array of features, like the bonus Freezer TV Bar, with built-in LCDs.

Whirlpool FSG82GFCN

If you are on a budget, you may not want a refrigerator as big as the LG LW9000AFF, or the more expensive LG LW8500HIFGFR. But if you want something more affordable, but still high quality, then the Whirlpool FSG82GFCN is a good option. It is surprisingly nice looking and well-built. And since it doesn’t have the fancy TV Bar, you may find this model cheaper. However, I have seen it cheaper on occasion. For a budget model, it’s quite a nice set-up. It is also removable, so you can set it up where you want, for example, next to the microwave.

GE PRDS124SDS Twin Fan 600-Watt Model

If you want something similar in price, and you don’t want to be saddled with the LG LW9000AFF’s large size, the GE PRDS124SDS is a good option. It comes with a nice-looking exterior and a two-door option, which is a bit easier to keep clean. It has nice features, including an interior light that helps you see the ice inside, and a separate ice chute for a more convenient way to pour drinks.

Panasonic SDM64RGFS

The Panasonic SDM64RGFS is a great, small appliance, and it comes with an impressive warranty. At under $400, it’s worth considering, when you want a fridge that is flexible and you can move it about easily. It has an interior light, a removable, easy-clean door, and a removable ice dispenser. It is also pretty small for a top-of-the-line fridge. It’s one of the more versatile models on the list and should have no problems fitting into smaller spaces, even apartments.

G LWN9730BL

If you are on a budget, or just want a simple, no-frills, freezer compartment-style fridge, the LG LWN9730BL should suit you. It has the same hybrid technology as the LG LWN9710BL (a refrigerator with an internal freezer) and it has all the same great features. It also comes with a 10-year warranty. And, like the other models in the line, it has a nice modern look, a removable door and ice maker, and a reasonable price tag. It’s the cheapest one on the list, but you don’t get many bells and whistles, and it’s rather plain, like most of the other mini-fridges in this price range.

GE HWFS129UW

If you are on a smaller budget and are looking for something affordable and simple, this GE fridge might be the one for you. It has the traditional freezer compartment and an interior light. It comes with a nice-looking door, a removable ice dispenser, and a single ice tray. It has a removable door. And, the GE HWFS129UW also comes with a full year of manufacturer’s warranty, including parts. It is one of the more affordable models on the list.

Samsung WMN650RB0F

This Samsung fridge is another mini-freezer. The design is simple, and the interior has a reasonable amount of light, although it’s not as bright as the GE HWFS129UW. This model has no removable door, and no ice dispenser, but it does come with a 10-year warranty. And, like the Samsung WMN650RB0F, it comes with a decent-looking exterior with a nice-looking door and nice-looking hinges. It also has no display, so there is nothing to show you what is in your fridge, and you have to open it for any reason.

LG WMN54GSC7C

A fantastic-looking mini-fridge, this LG model has the most bells and whistles of many on the list. There is no removable door, a removable ice dispenser, a display, a full-time cold-water Dewar, or a dual-zone function. It is also very pricey. And, it doesn’t fit under the cabinet, which is one reason it’s not in the top two. Still, if you want a top-notch model, and you don’t mind spending a little more, the LG WMN54GSC7C might be your best option. However, the LG WMN54GSC7C is a high-end model with top-notch features, including a door that lights up and has some nice, modern touches.

Samsung WC55JT43A

This Samsung model is truly unique. While most mini-freezers on the market are kind of boring, this one is a big leap ahead. The interior is made of a white ceramic material, which looks gorgeous. There is no touch screen display. The top of the door is made of glass, so you can see what’s inside. It also has no internal freezer, but it has two interior lights. And it has a whole bunch of other nifty features, including dual-zone and night/day controls, a digital thermostat, a removable storage drawer, a display, a digital timer, a container shelf, and removable cabinet doors. It also comes with a 10-year warranty.

LG LW7010CDA

It also comes with a year’s warranty, and it has a display, a day/night control function, and a dishwasher-safe door. The internal temperature regulation is one of the most advanced on the list. All that for $400. If you can afford this price, it is worth considering. And, unlike the first two models on the list, this LG has an internal freezer.

GE ZLW140DMSW

With all of the bells and whistles, the GE ZLW140DMSW is the granddaddy of mini-fridges. It has an integrated water filtration system, an external temperature control system, an extra-cold food drawer, a soft-close door, and a double door. It has an alarm and an icemaker, and it has a memory function. It also comes with a ten-year warranty. It is the most expensive model on this list, but it has all of the bells and whistles you could ever want.

It also has the most elaborate features. There is a sensor inside the door that automatically turns the lights on when you open it, a light-sensitive door lock, a keyless lock, and a lock for the food drawer. There are also light sensors in the interior to automatically adjust the lights and temperature inside the door. And, this model is one of the most expensive, but it’s a model that every serious home chef would want in his kitchen.

Samsung WMN55F8AH

With the Samsung WMN55F8AH, you get quite a bit of bell and whistles for the price. It has an ice dispenser, an LCD, a remote control, a dual-zone ice tray and freezer, and a full-time water dispenser. And, it does not need bulky fuses and power adapters. The inside of the refrigerator has lots of light, with an interior light, which I think is a nice touch. This model also has a nice-looking door and a fancy hinge. This model is not listed on the manufacturer’s site, but it does come with a 10-year warranty, including parts.

Frigidaire FFG6470DSU-RS

If you can afford the Samsung model and want the best-looking refrigerator, you can’t go wrong with the Frigidaire FFG6470DSU-RS. This model has a stainless-steel interior with frosted glass panels, is elegant looking, and is very large. It also has no ice dispenser or other extras, but it does have the super-powerful GE brand.

This model doesn’t come with a 10-year warranty, but Frigidaire does offer a factory-backed replacement for a year if you need one. So, if you have the money and you want a great fridge, the top of the list is Frigidaire FFG6470DSU-RS, followed by LG WMN54GSC7C. If you can spend a little more, the GE HWFS129UW is the best. It comes with a full year manufacturer’s warranty, and it’s fairly priced.

GE HWFS1000

The GE HWFS1000 has all of the bells and whistles. There is an LCD, a full-time cold water dewar, a dual-zone ice tray and freezer, a 10-year warranty, and an automatic ice maker. This model has a full-blown freezer, but it is a nice-looking one. And, unlike the other mini-freezers on the list, this one doesn’t need bulky fuses or power adapters. This model also comes with 10 years of manufacturer’s warranty. If you are a bit more ambitious, you can get this LG model with the third-generation version of the refrigerator, which has Wi-Fi built-in.

LG WMN55GSC9B

This LG model is an absolute knockout. It has a redesigned freezer compartment, with windows that allow you to see inside. It has a sliding door, which is quite attractive, and it has a full-time water dewar, which means it’s essentially a mini-fridge. It also has programmable smart grid functionality, which means you can have appliances like a space heater and a mini-stove running at the same time, although that feature will not be available on every model. And, the LG WMN55GSC9B is the most expensive, but it still costs less than a full-size refrigerator.
